Riders on the Storm ft. The Doors - Song Around The World - Playing For Change (Live Music Video)

Live Music Television presents Playing For Change and their Song Around The World series, with the remaining Doors members performing Rider's On The Storm, with and an all star lineup.

Live Music Television is very pleased to present more from Playing For Change and their Song Around The World series, with the remaining Doors members performing Rider's On The Storm, with and an all star lineup from remote locations from around the world.

Here is how Playing for Change describes the adventure:

Playing For Change honors the timeless legacy of The Doors with “Riders on the Storm” Song Around The World, a powerful global collaboration featuring original members John Densmore and Robby Krieger, a tribute to Ray Manzarek, and the legendary vocals of Jim Morrison. Joined by over 20 musicians and dancers from eight different countries, this powerful performance is in celebration of The Doors 60th Anniversary, and it reimagines a classic anthem through the lens of unity, hope, and musical connection that knows no boundaries.

From the first beat of the Lakota Drum Group, grounding the song in ancestral rhythm, to magnetic performances by Lukas and Micah Nelson, Sierra Ferrell, Don Was and Rami Jaffee of the Foo Fighters, every note reminds us that music is a universal language that serves as a bridge to unite a global community. In a time when the world may feel divided, this Song Around The World stands as a testament to the power of music to heal, connect, and bring us together.

This monumental song also marks a full-circle moment as it will help support the first Playing For Change Foundation music program established in America, in partnership with the Indigenous-led non-profit First Peoples Fund, uplifting Indigenous communities and ensuring that the rhythms, stories, and voices that began this journey continue to inspire hearts around the world.

MORE ABOUT PLAYING FOR CHANGE
Playing For Change (PFC) is a Certified B Corp (Social Purpose Organization) created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band—a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation—a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting music programs for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet. To learn more, visit playingforchange.com

Walking Blues featuring Keb' Mo' | Playing For Change | Song Around The World

Live Music Television is pleased to present more from Playing For Change. This one features the bluesman known as Keb' Mo' leading a stellar group of musicians plugged in from around the world and performing the classic blues standard titled Walking Blues.

Here is how Playing for Change sets up the song:
In honor of blues legend Robert Johnson's birthday, we are proud to share our latest Song Around The World, "Walking Blues," featuring Keb' Mo' along with musicians from six countries. Originally written and recorded by Son House in 1930, Robert recorded his own version in 1936. We started our version in Patagonia, Argentina with Roberto Luti and Nico Bereciartua playing slide guitars in front of a 100-year-old fig tree and with that raw performance, we added friends as we traveled to create a blues jam around the world. Blues is always from the people for the people and this video creates a moment in time to come together and put all the darkness and division we face as a human race into the music so it can set us free. Turn it up and enjoy!

A Message from our friends at Playing for Change:

In the beginning of 2010 the Playing For Change crew began work on a new Song Around the World, John Lennon's "Imagine." It has been an amazing year of production, taking the crew from the favelas of Brazil to the shrines of southern India, from villages in Nepal to the glittering urban landscape of Tokyo and New York, and beyond.

This song is the Playing For Change Foundation's gift to the world. The Playing For Change Foundation feels honored to have the blessing and generous support of Yoko Ono as music lovers around the world join together to launch the Power to the People campaign. The campaign seeks to advance John Lennon's vision of peace by engaging artists and audiences to contribute to music education programs worldwide. Proceeds raised will help build music schools, support teachers and music programs, purchase instruments, and connect schools for cross-cultural learning and conflict resolution across borders. Music IS the power: Power to the People.
